  • Titleist TSi 2021

    Updated: May 27, 2021
    2021 New Titleist Woods

The new Titleist TSi drivers are made with a face material that has literally been to space. So, if you’re thinking about how to hit the ball further in 2021 – out of this world, perhaps – then the TSi drivers and fairway woods are worth trying in 2021 as golf season gets started across Canada.

This year Titleist has leaned into ATI 425 Aeropsace Titanium to create the face on the TSi drivers and TSi fairway woods. It’s a material never before used in golf equipment, until now, initially developed for ballistic armour and used in aerospace and commercial aircraft solutions including on NASA’s Mars Lander.

“ATI 425 is an amazing alloy that leads to a lot of performance benefits,” said Dan Stone, Senior Vice President, Titleist Golf Club R&D. “It’s incredibly strong and maintains elongation under high stress. It let us optimize the thickness of the entire face to a degree that was never possible before and generate our highest ball speeds ever at points all over the face – not just heel and toe but also high and low.

“This is not an easy material to obtain, but the benefits to the golfer are beyond anything we’ve ever seen.”

When you’re hitting the TSi drivers made by Titleist golf has become easy again – or at least, as close to easy as possible. It’s simply better than previous models when it comes to all four of the key fundamentals of driver design (distance, accuracy, looks, and sound) according to Josh Talge, the vice president of Titleist golf club marketing.

“We continue to make every investment necessary to help players achieve the speed and distance gains they are asking for, without having to make any sacrifices when it comes to performance. ATI 425 is an incredible breakthrough for driver performance, but it’s just one piece of the puzzle,” said Talge.

The Titleist TSi drivers come in four models for 2021 – the TSi1, TSi2, TSi3, and TSi4 – while there are three models of the TSi fairway woods.

Each driver boasts holistic MOI with inertia that delivers more speed and a tighter spin range up and down the face, plus adjustability features in TSi tuned for performance.

Titleist TSi1 is perfect for golfers with moderate swing speeds who are looking for a lightweight construction to try to maximize distance in both drivers and fairway woods.

Titleist TSi2 is built for golfers who are hoping to add big-time speed while also hitting the ball super straight. It boasts a deeper and lower centre of gravity and has a 460cc head.

For Tour-trusted performance, the Titleist TSi3 driver is already making waves. PGA Tour winners Justin Thomas, Adam Scott, Max Homa, and Jordan Spieth – among many others including some not on Titleist golf contracts – are already gaming the Titleist TSi3, which is built for those who have consistent contact and are keen for more control. It’s a mid-to-high launch driver that boasts low spin.

“Every aspect of TSi has been optimized to benefit the total package, and it’s the integration of all those parts that drives greater ball speed and an experience at impact that tour players can’t stop talking about,” said Talge.

Rounding out the Titleist TSi driver line up in 2021 is the TSi4, which is the lowest spinning driver in the line. Featuring a compact pear-shaped head and the most forward centre of gravity in the TSi driver family, the Titleist TSi4 is set to deliver less spin and less dynamic loft at impact.

While there are only three models of the TSi fairway woods, they follow the same kind of design properties as the Titleist drivers – the TSi1 fairway is ultra light, while the TSi2 fairway has a deeper and lower centre of gravity and the TSi3 has a new Active Recoil Channel for consistently higher, faster launch. The full line of TSi fairway woods are just that much faster both off the tee and the turf.

“Our metalwoods engineers continue to find new ways to generate speed and distance in our fairway designs without giving up any of the performance characteristics that players demand from a Titleist golf club,” said Talge. “TSi fairways are faster, straighter and easier-to-hit than ever – and deliver an experience at impact that many golfers would never expect from a fairway wood.”
