As Canadian golfers reach the tail end of August and there is a bit of a nip in the air, there’s a real chance you’ll unzip your golf bag and think, ‘wow – where did all my golf balls go?’
After a nearly full season of golf already in the rearview – COVID-19 notwithstanding – you may be running low on balls. However, all of golf’s top manufacturers released some very special seeds for 2020.
And whether you’ve always gone one direction with your golf ball choice or are looking for something different, GlobalGolf has you covered.
Here are some of the best golf-ball offerings for 2020. And don’t forget, GlobalGolf has a special Golf Ball Selector tool to help you find the best ball for your game. A few simple questions – it takes barely 10 seconds to answer – and you’ll get a solid suggestion to help you from tee-to-green!
Titleist Pro V1
The Titleist Pro V1 is the No.1 ball in golf week-after-week – and it’s likely one you’ve tried already. But for those who haven’t given it a full trial, or are looking to come back to it, the Titleist Pro V1 was reimagined for 2020. It provides longer distance and more consistent flight while also being engineered with very soft feel, more durability, and short-game control.
Also available in Yellow and the Titleist Pro V1x model.
TaylorMade TP5
The TaylorMade TP5 and TaylorMade TP5x were re-worked for 2020 and contain an extra-large low compression core to help increase launch angle. They also feature a soft urethane cover to help generate more spin around the greens.
The newly-added “HFM” energy speed layer will help increase ball speeds. The TP5/TP5x is a complete Tour ball (trusted by the likes of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, and Dustin Johnson) that offers tee-to-green performance.
Also available in Yellow and TaylorMade TP5x Pix (designed by Rickie Fowler).
Callaway Chrome Soft
For 2020 Callaway has gone big with alignment aid additions to its line of golf balls.
First up is the Chrome Soft Triple Track, with advanced alignment from Triple Track Technology, for improved putting accuracy. The ball also has two distinct mantles. A soft inner mantle combined with a firm outer mantle helps generate ball speed off the clubface.
The Chrome Soft Truvis combine Tour-proven distance and feel with the popular Truvis pattern. Although it looks more like a soccer ball, the additional block colours on are super helpful with alignment, focus, and visibility.
Also available – both the Triple Track and Chrome Soft – in Yellow.
Srixon Z-Star
The Srixon Z-Star 6 and Z-Star HV 6 are two of the newest balls in Srixon’s celebrated lineup.
The Z-Star 6 has a FastLayer core – soft in the centre and gradually gets firmer around the edge – to provide players with exceptional feel and tremendous ball speed. There’s a 338 Speed Dimple pattern as well, designed for longer and more efficient flight, and featured on both the Z-Star 6 and Z-Star HV 6.
The Srixon Z-Star HV 6 is designed for better players, with the fourth generation SpinSkin coating that maximizes spin for more control and stopping power.
Also available in Yellow.
